Buy books to help build the Hall

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

The Chicago Writers Association has partnered with Borders the weekend of July 24-25. That weekend only Borders will be running a special promotion, Borders Benefit Days, where all your purchases will help to raise money for the Chicago Writers Association and its Chicago Literary Hall of Fame project.

This promotion will only take place at the Borders flagship Chicago store at 830 North Michigan Avenue (across the street from Water Tower Place) and online at Borders.com. All you have to do when you make your purchases is give the store cashier a Borders Benefit Days voucher (if you forget to bring it, they'll have them on hand in-store), or use the online code CHW7245BD when making purchases at Borders.com.

Encourage family and friends to shop at Borders North Michigan Ave. or at Borders.com that day. Share the vouchers with everyone you know. Borders will donate a percentage of the total net sales to the CWA. The higher the total sales, the greater the percentage CWA earns (between 10-25 percent).

Download the vouchers from the CWA's Windy City Writers blog here.

If you have any Borders gift cards or coupons, the weekend of July 24-25 is the time to use them. The CWA voucher can be used in conjunction with any other promotions. It's a great excuse to get that book you've been dying to read or that CD you've been itching to get your hands on. Also, if you have any gifts that you need to buy, the weekend of July 24-25 is the time to get them.
